The Wheatsheaf is a long pub found at the Bottom end of the High Street. A pool table and dartboard are found in a seating area to the left of the entrance. The thin bar leads to more seating and a second pool table at the rear where access can be gained to the downstairs toilets and a small balcony. A function room is advertised along with accommodation. Sky and BT Sport are advertised for airing on two plasma screens which were muted in favour of some loud background jukebox music during my recent Sunday afternoon visit. Karaoke is held here every Saturday from 20:30 and the pool tables are free on Tuesdays.
I found the service to be friendly, but only the usual keg suspects were available from the bar. I would pop back in here to watch a match if passing, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.
