A down-to-earth sort of pub catering for locals and holidaymakers from the various sites nearby, located just opposite the beach. A somewhat cluttered interior with signs of live music, discos etc,. plus a games room behind. A good range of beers, mainly from local brewers, and seemed well kept (Cask Marque accredited).

The family and I popped into the Sailor’s Home late on Monday afternoon last week. A decent crowd was in attendance, but there was plenty of room in the large L shaped bar. To the rear of the pub is a smaller room that houses a pool table and dartboard. In the corner of this room was some DJ equipment. An extension to the left is used as a dining area and I noted some buffet equipment. Down the side of this extension are some picnic tables that face a car park and more outside seating can be found at the rear by a marquee.
Plasma screens found throughout were airing horse racing during my visit. Sky Sports is advertised. Live music and open mic nights are held and daily fishing trips can be arranged.
From the bar San Miguel and a standard keg range were available. I also spotted a bank of four hand pumps. Four extra clip badges were leant against these pumps so I deduced that another bank of four hand pumps were lurking somewhere making a total of 8 cask products. Adnams is the regular beer. Food is available from midday until 14:00 and 18:00 until 20:00. For those visiting out of kitchen hours there is a range of cakes and rolls on the bar.
I found this to be a decent seaside pub with easy access to the beach. This is easily the better of the two pubs in Kessingland.
