This is a great community pub situated right next to the city farm. It's been painted with a full size farm themed mural covering the whole pub. There was an eclectic mix of clientele, but they all seemed friendly enough. In fact, even though I don't consider myself the trendy, veggie, left-wing Venue type and have always tended towards traditional country inns rather than inner city pubs, I actually preferred the atmosphere in here to that of the Plume of Feathers at Rickford where I was last night. But then I was here on a Saturday lunch time, maybe it's different late at night.
It's a reasonable sized pubs with bars on two different levels, and a large outside seating area with plenty of benches and tables. There's a small food menu, and portions looked generous although we didn't eat ourselves.
There seems to be a wide range of interests for everyone, with posters and flyers about various bands, tai chi classes and various other community events. The pub also has it's own film club on a Sunday evening.
Beers on tap were Bath Ales Jem, Doom Bar and Gurt Lush. Ciders were Stowford Press and Thatcher's Gold, plus Weston's Old Rosie straight out of a box behind the bar.

Has a lot of the ingredients to be a great pub (location in St Werburghs by the city farm, couple of decent ales on in Bath Gem and Doom Bar, nice outside area) but falls a bit short - namely because of the customers...weekend hippies like the Modern Parents strip in Viz and drippy floaty-skirted teenagers talking loudly about how politically/ecologically sound they are. I can see why Venue magazine like the place.
My bias, but there you go.
That said, it’s a decent visit overall. If I gave it less than a 6 it would be like kicking a puppy.
