Blue Scrumpy left this review about Five Bells

The Five Bells in Rattlesden is situated on the High Street, which runs above the main road (Lower Road) through the village. Although the pub garden slopes down the hill to Lower Road itself where the village's other pub is located.

This is a friendly village local, the kind where everybody and their dogs congregate on stools along the length of the bar, which made getting served a challenge. The guy sat where we ordered was simply not going to shift for love nor money.

3 real ales were on - Earl Soham Victoria Bitter, Woodforde's Wherry & St Austell Proper Job. My swift half of Victoria Bitter was very pleasant and enjoyed in a lower section of the pub overlooking the expansive garden and next to the pool table.

Dogs are made welcome in the pub and there was even what appeared to be a stuffed one underneath a dartboard in the corner, where to presumably save any dropped darts from puncturing the carpet!

Nice pub that appears to be open all day every day.

Everytime I am in Rattlesden, I have a beer (or so at Five Bells. My dad flew from Rattlesden during WWII and we have been fortunate to be back several times. Lovely town!
