Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Bull Inn

One of two pubs in the village of Woolpit, we found this pub to be very much on the rowdy side, especially the public bar at the front. Just behind the bar was a further room with no customers and very little seating. So, we chose to sit in a conservatory area to the rear, adjacent to the car park. Beyond that was an unused dining area and some outdoor seating, also next to the car park.

Adnams Southwold Bitter is the regular ale. Guests were Woodforde's Wherry, Fuller's London Pride and one labelled as Platinum Jubilee, a 4% pale ale with no brewery name on the pumpclip. The barmaid didn't know who brewed it, but on asking the barman, he stated it was Laine's. A blackboard near the entrance also stated this. Whether it was a rebadged Laine's Best, I'm not sure. But it wasn't to my taste.

I found this pub a bit too lively. Whilst I generally enjoy a lively atmosphere, the customers here were all well oiled, which didn't make for a very relaxing visit.

This traditional pub had four ales on handpump in the front bar. A small pool room to the rear and a dining area. The Moorhouses Blond Witch was very good. The downside to our mid afternoon visit was the gaming machine being played close to the bar and the piped music level.
