Sitting between Crabbe Street and the frontal Crag Path this 15th Century pub is allegedly one of the oldest buildings in the town. Steps down from Crag Path lead into a small courtyard seating area which then leads into the main bar and a variety of low beamed ceiling seating areas, one of which has a really impressive large stone fireplace. The interior is quite modern in decor and the wooden bar front is painted a bright blue. There is an impressive row of 6 ale pumps on the front of the bar but due to doubling up and the Broadside being reversed, only Ghostship, Southwold Bitter and Regatta were on. There are six keg taps on the side wall of the bar with A range of Adnams keg products including Mosaic and the Adnams Blackshore Stout. I went for the stout and it was a decent dark keg ale.
There is a strong focus on food here with an upmarket food menu focussed on seafood, but we were here just for drinks and in that respect I preferred the other two Adnams pubs we tried in town on the day.

Nice pub that although is food led it did a very nice pint of Adnams Explorer.I say a very nice pint as it should be at £3.80 a pint which in common with most other Adnams pubs is a total rip off and should be avoided unless you want to do serious damage to your wallet.
