Ye Olde Kings Arms is a large pub that has seating across the front windows that is faced by the bar counter that supports standard and premium keg alongside Beavertown Neck Oil and five hand pumps. One of these was unused and the Directors was off leaving Titanic’s Plum Porter, Pedigree and Bass on cask. Behind the bar in the right rear is a large room with more seating, a fireplace and two dartboards on the rear wall. To the left is a smaller room with more seating and another fireplace. Out the back is an enclosed seating area that was full of goths during a recent Thursday evening visit. Friendly and certainly OK for a high street boozer.

10 hand pulls at the bar, five of which were in operation on my Tuesday evening visit. The line-up consisted of Wainwright, Pedigree, Weetwood Cheshire Cat, Titanic Plum Porter and Titanic Rye IPA. I spotted a Bass pump clip turned round on one of the unavailable hand pulls, which may interest those so inclined to seek out Bass on cask.
This is a large sprawling pub with wonky old dark beams. There is also a wooden front door with an unusual wooden latch.
Food is offered, including a £7 menu and £5 specials. There is a dartboard and the pub is dog friendly.
Despite not being massively impressed by the Titanic Rye IPA (unsure if this was a beer issue or a pub issue) I do think Ye Olde Kings Arms is worth checking out.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ye Olde Kings Arms
Old Marston's pub on the station side of the town centre (and about the only one in that area open at lunchtime early in the week). Partly opened-out, with several supporting columns to catch out the unwary, so the original layout must have been crampt. Pedigree (£3.00), Wainwright and Courage Directors available from the various handpumps.

A very well kept traditional pub with the interior just as appealing as the outside. There was a large display of flowers in pots at the front entrance in full red bloom, which really set off the front of the pub. The interior was very comfortable and had a good relaxed atmosphere, no loud music or gaming machines in here. As this is now a Marston's house, the beer choice was mostly Nationals. The beer choice on our visit was Wainwright Bombardier, Youngs etc. I went for the Wainwright, which was exceptionally good.

This is a Project William pub run by Titanic brewery. It's quite clearly very old and is a listed building. Inside there are beams and a mix of tiled, wooden floored and carpeted areas. The main bar area at the front is an L shaped room and you can see another room across the bar to the right. There is a bar billiard table to the far right of this room and there are two snugs at the back.
Unusually for one of their pubs there were no guest ales just five Titanic and the obligatory Everard's Tiger. I went for the Captain Smith (£3.50) and Plum Porter (£3.40) both of which were excellent.
This isn't the best Titanic pub I've been to but there's nothing wrong with it and it's a friendly place well worth visiting. It's GBG 2017 listed.

A particularly old building (1585),joined together with another building by a single story side extension,this Titanic house has a nesting of seperate rooms and a very low ceiling around the bar area.There is a mosaic tiled floor leading from the old oak door ,while to the right is a two table snug with it's own small bar access.Around the bar and to the rear is a square back room on the way to the beer garden.There are lots of beams and fireplaces,pleasant traditional furniture and there is no muzak,gaming machines or flatscreens to put you off from supping the fine house ales.There are 10 handpumps which on my trip were offering Steerage,Captain Smith,Capuccino,Iceberg,First Class and an excellent Plum Porter (£3.20) Guest ales were Marston's King of Swing and Milestone Loxley Ale which didn't seem worth bothering about,while two pumps were unclipped.Pub grub style food is served Thursday throught to Sunday ,while the Thursday pie night plus a Titanic beer comes in at £7.50.
Live jazz is played on Wednesdays at 9pm but the pub was quiet on my visit earlier that evening,and compared with other establishments in town it is clear that the good people of Congleton havent as yet cottoned on to the terrific ale that Titanic brew.Open for less than a year,it may take time to bed in but for me it would always be the first port of call when in Bear Town.

This is a Marstons house that looks very old from the outside,once inside here the pub was fairly dark and there were drinking areas on different levels,i had a drink of Marstons Pedigree and this was a decent drink.
The pub was fairly quiet on a Saturday afternoon.
