A detached, white rendered, cottage styled Banks's pub, with double gable. It has a small patio area at the front and the side.
The interior of the pub is an open plan L-shape, with, as AM says below, the main part given over to dining and the side part given over to being a bar area. The dining area to me is a little too clinical, with white walls, beigy coloured chinmey breasts (with brick fireplaces) brown carpet, a bookcase, plain but smart tables and chairs. There was a TV, but it wasn't on and a few pictures of the pub and prints on the walls. I didn't eat so can't comment on the food. The bar is in white as well, with a tile floor. There is footy memorabila in this room, especially for the Wolves - nice to see the local team supported! there was a dartboard and a silent TV with Sky Sports News on. The clientele was small, background music quiet and as the Monster says, the service is very friendly, with staff really making an effort to make you feel welcome.
Beer; tap stuff, with a good Banks's MILD on handpull, along with Banks's Bitter and Salopian Gold - nice to see something other than the Marston's range in a Banks's pub.
As a miserable traditionalist, i of course prefered this pub before it was refurbished, but that is purely me - most would prefer it as it is now. The beer and choice is very good - take this pub in, along with the New Inns up the road for a really pleasant eveing.

This is a good little village Banks’s (Marston’s) pub which has been nicely refurbished in recent years. As you pass through the front door from the main road you enter a long narrow dining area which has two small fire places, one at either end of the room, a small bar counter and the walls are decorated with prints of classical paintings. At the back to the left there is a very small public bar which only has two tables, four stools, a small bar counter, a flat screen TV and surprisingly for such a small space a dart board! There is a short menu of good home cooked food plus specials boards, children are welcome but the car park is very small.
Regular ales are Banks’s Mild and Bitter and a single changing guest from the Marston’s portfolio such as Brakspear, Jennings, Ringwood or Wychwood beers.
A quiet little pub with good beer and food that is well worth a visit, especially if you fancy a drive out in the sticks. I don’t normally comment on the quality of the service in my reviews as I find that pub landlords/managers and staff can change too often for any such information to be of any value, but I feel I should mention that all the people here were very friendly and sociable, I shall return.
