Soup Dragon left this review about Kings Arms Hotel

A large detached hotel, pub and restaurant in undressed brick and white render with beams. Believed to be 17th century in origin. There is a patio area. In the GBG 2010, but not this year

The interior had a bar, lounge/diner and a restaurant room, which was closed when i got in there lunchtime-ish. The lounge/dining area was in white render and wood panel, with with beamed ceiling and had a lovely brick and wood fireplace, with a nice fire blazing. There were old pew seats and toby jugs, with old documents and pictures on the walls. I ate here, a bacon and brie melt and the food was decent. The bar room is in white and to the right on entry. It had a tled fireplace and a TV (not on). The service was really good here and the music was supplied via a radio it seemed. There were a few people in the bar room - felt really homely. I returned with Mrs Soup to eat here - had a really nice mushroom stroganoff. The restaurant room is in cream, with a blue rail, with Victorian prints on the walls and a small fireplace.

Beer; tap stuff with a fine Banks's MILD, along with Bass, Adnams Bitter, Spitfire and a decent Theakston's Black Bull Bitter on handpull

This is a great place, perhaps even better as i didn't expect it to be so. I thoroughly enjoyed my stop off here and would really recommend you drop in for one.
