The Holmcroft is a Marston’s pub with an L-shaped interior and L-shaped central bar counter. The front entrance opens onto the shorter side of the counter and to the right is a seating area with dartboard. The longer section of bar runs up to the rear facing seating along the left-hand wall. A pool table and second dartboard are found at the rear. Televisions are located throughout for airing live football, but racing TV was on during my recent midweek afternoon visit. The bar support standard and premium keg and the two identical banks of three hand pumps were drawing Pedigree and Bank’s Amber, the letter being very good. I was surprised at how busy it was in here for the time of day, and then I spotted some trays full of food so I must have stumbled across a party of some sorts. The service was polite, but this place is far enough from town to not warrant a return visit.

Not much more to add really, except I used it at weekend lunchtimes, and it was busy, but not too crowded. I stuck to Banks' as it is not a tipple readily available in my neck of the woods, pleasant pint, and at £2.10 good value

Reasonable sized car park, with free on street parking available

Co-op with cash machine very nearby if you run short of beer coupons

Never ate here, but some of the group I was with did, and reckoned the food was good value & tasty

Not likely to return to Stafford area, but should I find myself there again I would not hesitate to go in here

A white rendered Marston’s pub/eatery, with steep pitched roof and dormer windows. There are hanging baskets and greenery, aswell as a patio area.

The interior is an L-shape around the serving bar. To the right on entry is the food area, on the left is the lounge/dining area and at the end of this area is a pool table and dart board. The décor is the all too familiar different coloured plain walls, with; red, cream, green and salmon featuring. Arty pictures adorn the walls, except for the pool area, which had a few sports pictures instead. There were several TVs that had the test cricket on. There was general background music at a decent level, the service was fine and there were just a couple of others in at my visit.

Beer; tap stuff with Pedigree and a decent enough Banks’s Bitter on handpull. No MILD.

An inoffensive place, pretty standard, as these places are. I have been in worse.
