Friendly town local as described by Soupy, below, though the Indian business wasn’t really in evidence. No food on offer, but there was a reasonable beer offering. Ales were Hobgoblin Gold and Wainwright’s bitter, both in good condition. On keg were Moretti, Banks’s Amber, Carlsberg, Thatcher’s Gold and Guinness. There is a pool table which is well-used, and various sports trophies were on display. Live music and karaoke are advertised, but mercifully these were not happening when we visited. AN enjoyable visit, and I’d be happy to come back.

A mainly undressed brick corner pub with courtyard which is shared by an Indian restaurant - a former coaching house as a guess

The interior has two rooms. A small lounge in white is at the back. The main room loops around the bar, with a pool section, a dartboard area and tv, with some Katie Price like programme on. It was plain, in white and a peach decor, with a few mirrors on the walls, but it felt bare and a bit 1970s - it was a bit like a working men's club to be honest. Service was fine and there were a few locals in, mainly the younger age group, but it seemed friendly enough. There was no background music.

Beer; usual tap stuff, with Banks's Bitter and a great MILD on electronic cask pump. There was no real ale - which their was at my last visit, last year.

It is a basic kind of pub - for comfort you would probably go to the Hartley Arms, but the MILD in here was spot on - so i would go in again (and have before)
