Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Redmore Inn
Sizeable dining pub at the lower (south-west) corner of Gentleshaw Common so popular with walkers. Partly opened-out to give a L-shaped arrangement of seating and dining areas, with a conservatory extension on one side and a relatively small beer garden at the back. Three real ales on handpump: Wainwright, Landlord and Purity Mad Goose (£3.80).

UPDATE: Twigs have gone and it has been redecorated. Now does Indian food. 2 Ales on: Spekky Hen (fine) and Wainwright. Friendly. Has a big TV in a comfy seated lounge area, bar area and the larger dining area.

July 2013 UPDATE: I returned to this place for a meal with friends. It was closed for a while and has been refurbished, going up-market - it is still in cream, with new signage. The core of the pub is a cottage, but it has been extended several times and there is a nice beer garden now too (with kid's play area). The interior is generally L-shaped, which is in green, cream and white, with an imposing brick fireplace. It is set-up for dining, with high backed chairs - but the odd sofa for those that want to have a drink in their own sitting room. I am pleased to say there are no arty twigs in vases - they have been woven into wall decorations instead. There was no TV that i saw and the music was general and at a decent level. The face-to-face service was fine and the place was busy with diners. Beer; usual tap stuff, with Staropramen. On handpull, there were Courage Directors, London Pride, Spekky Hen and Thwaites Wainwright (decent) - sadly, whilst four are on, they are a little generic. We did eat here and found the food decent, but somewhat overpriced - not only that, but the service was agonisingly slow. There was an apology and a free wine - so good for them. I think i am just unlucky when i visit here - the decor isn't to my taste, and depite the real ales being quite common, there are four and the quality was decent.

(Sep 2009) A nice country pub from the outside, it has a plague in the wall dating it to 1869. The interior has plain decor, with some old Cannock pictures on the walls. It had a nice feel, with Sinatra kind of music playing in the background. The bar staff just did their jobs really.
There were 4 handpulls; Black Sheep Bitter, Flock (which was fine enough), Abbots and Titanic Lifeboat. Sadly, the Flock was served in a C***ling glass, hardly the world's greatest crime.
Sadly, the peace of the place was shattered by a few guys, who chatted to one of the young barmaids. Their voices just took over. Their particular linguistic skill was to replace as many verbs and adjectives etc as possible with the 'F' word, yet clearly be able still to communicate with each other - not only that, but managed everytime to accentuate the F at the beginning of each profanity. The bar staff didnt seem to realise, or care.
