Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Red Lion

Solid-looking old inn, although not done any favours by dull light-grey exterior paintwork and with most character inside refurbished away... However, there are five different seating / dining areas inside, all semi-traditionally furnished and decorated, with a pool table at one end of the three-part bar counter and a dartboard in the central section. The handpumps can then be found at the far end, albeit just with Wainwright (£2.90) on when I stopped for a meal (and a reversed Pedigree clip also noted).

Has been recently renovated. Had a pint of Marston's Sweet Chariot and was excellent. Now do food again. Will go again

Soup Dragon left this review about The Red Lion

A large detached white renderd pub, with beer patio.

The interior is open plan around the bar that faces you on entry and the decor is now the plain wall in differing colours, common to a lot of places; with red, green and a mustardy colour. There was Sky TV and an area with a dartboard and pool table. The service was fine, the clientele small, which left it feeling a little lifeless. The music was mixed and at a decent level.

Beer; tap stuff with Pedigree and a good drop of Marston's Single Malt.

I played for their footy team for a season sometime in the 90s and the pub has changed a bit. I would always go back for nostalgia, but it was one of the best pints (and different) that we had had that day
