Steve C left this review about The Chase

The Chase is a grand pub set back from the passing road by a large front patio area full of picnic tables and also a large screen for showing live sports. Screens are also found throughout the interior due to this primarily being a sports pub. In the center of this sprawling Marston’s pub is an L-shaped bar counter that supports standard and premium keg alongside two banks of three duplicate hand pumps. These were badged with Wainwright, Bank’s and Pedigree, but they were all off during a recent Sunday evening visit. This is a lads pub that was busy and boisterous, I imagine it’s a bit hectic on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Chase

Origins unclear, but this substantial (seemingly unbranded Marston's) outlet looks like a former house set back from the road in fully enclosed grounds. However, once inside you now find a mostly standard food-led pub with various seating / dining areas on three sides of the central servery (although there is a very large sports TV screen and a side room with a dartboard. Two banks of three handpumps, offering a duplicated selection of Pedigree plus Banks's Amber and Mild (£2.70).

The Chase is a large pub that is on the western side of Rugeley.
Once inside there is a large single room, the front area is oblong shaped with the bar facing, there is comfy bench seating facing the bar, there are TVs at either end of the area showing the Bradford v Reading FA Cup game, there is also a darts board to the left.
There is another seating area to the right, the rear area is larger and seemed popular with family diners, the room is carpeted throughout.
The pub is a Marstons tied house, there were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Banks's Bitter which was a nice drink, the other beers were Banks's Mild,Ringwood Boon Doggle and Pedigree.
This is a smart and comfortable pub which has areas to suit different tastes.

Have been here for quite a few meals and have'nt had any cause for complaint. The staff are very friendly, the place is always clean, and there is a good covered smoking area. There are a number of T.V's for those who want to watch..... and a dart board, meal prices are very competitive, worth a visit.

A large detached pubco build, with a white rendered facade and large patio area.

The interior is open plan, with a mix of plain walls in green, red, yellowy creamy and brown wallpaper. It is mainly food based, with Sky TV and generic background music at a decent level, but it was nice to see a dartboard there. There were a a collection of old photos, prints and mirrors to decorate the walls, but all in all it felt a little soulless as it is so big, despite there being a reasonable sized mixed clientele. The service was fine.

Beer; tap stuff, Banks's MILD, Bitter and Pedigree on handpull - the MILD was ok enough.

I just feel some of the pubco places are a bit soulless and this is no exception - i have seen a lot worse, but you really go there to eat rather than have a pint in my opinion.
