This pub has been given the gastro refurb but done in a thoughful manner and welcoming to drinkers. To the left is the restaurant while upstairs is billed as Di Mezzo italian pizza parlour. To the right of the entrance is the lounge area with a bar offering five real ales,TT Landlord,Bass,Pedigree,St Austell Tribute and Lancaster Blonde(£3.20 and sadly past it's best). The low ceiling around the bar and wood panelling creates an upmarket atmosphere and I spotted bar snacks including homemade pork pies and scotch eggs.A beer festival in June was being advertised.
I wouldn't base myself here for a blow out night on the ale,but given the beer range in a village dominated by Marston's it's well worth popping in to see what's on offer.

The Middle Bell is a fairly large stand alone pub.
Once inside the pub has been opened out but still has two distinct areas, the left side has some seating for drinkers near the front with the rear area set aside for diners, there are two pumps on the bar here, the main drinking area is to the right, this runs from the front of the pub to the rear, there was smart looking bare boarded floor and a beamed ceiling, there was a mix of normal tables and tall tables and chairs.
There were five real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Taylor Landlord which was a very nice well kept drink the other beers were Blyth Johnsons,Pedigree and Bass.
There were a few people dining and a decent crowd in the drinking area, the pub had a nice laid back atmosphere and there was some decent music playing.
They have done good job in reopening and doing this pub up,i quite liked it here.

I have been to this place a couple of times over the past month or so to find a note pinned to the door saying the pubs is closed until further notice. Aparently, the last people in cleared off in January and it has been closed since, so best mark it as closed.
