The Kingfisher is a three storey stand alone pub that is situated quite close to Rotherham Central train station, but it is cut off from it by the new centenary way which runs very close to the pub.
I was looking forward to doing this pub with it being an Old Mill tied house,so this was to be the last pub on my Rotherham crawl.
Once inside there is a single square shaped room with the bar on the left side,i could not see what the seating was because the pub was too dark, but there were loads of fairly lights and flashing lights, with music blasting out.
There were two pumps on the bar, both had Old Mill bitter clips on them showing,so i asked for a half of Old Mill bitter, the barman said"we dont do that beer"so i said "but you have two pump clips facing" Barman"WE DONT DO THOSE BEERS" not to be beaten i then asked for a half of Guinness, barman "we dont do halfs of Guinness" i then said "i only want a quick half of Guinness" barman "WE DONT DO HALFS IN THIS PUB but we do bottles from the fridge"i then gave up and probably for the first time ever walked out of a proper pub.
The pub was also empty at 7.30 on a Saturday night,i wonder why.

I dont usually do bad comments about pubs, but if you happen to spot this pub when getting off a train at Rotherham, dont make any attempt to do this pub.

There were two hand pumps on the bar when I called in here today, both with Old Mill pump clips on, but the man running the place said he only had the usual keg beers plus bottles in a fridge. I thought of questioning him further about why he had two real ale pump clips advertising beers he didn't have, but decided to give it up as a bad job.
