As noted below this is a grand old building that was actually built as a pub. It's certainly handy for the buses which are just across the square. Inside it's a fairly typical open plan room but with areas set off the main room.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had two unused, the JDW Trio Of Doom, Jennings Clean Slate & Snecklifter, Acorn Pekko IPA & Drop Kick and a second Doom Bore. I went for the Pekko IPA (£2.15) which was in good nick.
This one is GBG 2017 listed but I thought the beer choice could have been better, a shame as it's a nice building.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Church House (JD Wetherspoon)

Quite an imposing building in the middle of town, dating from 1810 (and originally built as a pub, before being consecrated in 1912 but then reverting to its former use by the mid-1990s). You enter via a flight of steps after crossing a raised patio terrace, and then find a partially opened-out layout and a pleasant side room with an outlook across Montgomery Square through a large bow window. The bar counter is in two parts, and both are rather cramped when even half busy. Also has a compact lounge area upstairs. Reasonable selection of real ales from the two banks of five handpumps, including a pair from Stancil - Blonde and No 7 (£2.15) - plus the same brewery's new Pilsner on the keg taps. Good mixed crowd in on a Friday evening.

The Church House is a Spoons that is housed in a old looking building which looks like a manor house.
Once inside the bar is on the left side, this is a short bar by Spoons standards, there are tall tables and chairs near the bar, normal tables and chairs to the front right, there is a small raised area to the front left which had some leather settees in it.
There was also a small seating area upstairs.
There were 10 pumps on the bar with 4 having waiting signs on them,i had a drink of Elland Savanna which was a nice refreshing beer, the other beers i noted were Wharfbank Camfell,Milestone Rasberry Wheat beer,Ruddles best and Abbot.
There is a pleasant outside seating area with picnic tables which overlooks Waths small shopping parade and the bus station.
I thought this was quite a nice Spoons.
