Will Larter left this review about The Station Hotel

I called in here a couple of years ago to find no real ale available, so it was good to see from Alan's review below that things had changed in that regard. The place seems to have been smartened up a bit too, though it was pretty quiet when we were here - admittedly on a weekday afternoon. The landlord had been busy with some DIY, but dropped everything to come and serve us. There was a choice of Timothy Talylor Landlord or Caledonian Deuchars IPA, and we all went for the former. There was a bit of difficulty getting the beer from the cellar into the glasses, and one of them, when it finally settled, required a large top up, but the service was friendly and welcoming, so we didn't grumble too much. The beer, when we finally got it, was in good condition and went down well. A handy stop if you've just got off the train at Swinton, but generally the only people who get off are those who live here - I can't imagine making a special trip just for this pub (present company excepted).

Alan Winfield left this review about The Station Hotel

The Station is a decent sized pub that is a stones throw from Swinton train station.
Once inside there was a smart bar to the left, this room was carpeted and had comfy leather bench seating, there was also a few tall tables and chairs, there was a pool table to the right.
There was a larger lounge to the right, this room was also carpeted and had comfy bench seating.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths cask which was a nice drink that went down well, the other beer was Black Sheep bitter.
Both rooms were fairly busy on my early Saturday night visit.
This was a decent pub to end my crawl in.
