The Montagu Arms is a decent sized pub that has got curved front, the pub is on the opposite corner to the Old Market Hall Spoons.
Once inside there was one large room with an island bar, there was comfy bench seating around the edge of the room with small stools and chairs, there was a DJ rig to the rear left and a pool table in a seperate area to the front right, the room was carpeted but this looked a bit tatty.
There were no real ales on the bar and even the keg Stones bitter was off, this left me with the choice of John Smiths smooth crap which went down better than i thought it would, probably because it was so warm outside.
For entertainment there was some 70s music playing, this was ok untill Cliff Richards came on singing some crap, which made me get up and go to the Spoons opposite.
This is a pretty rough and ready pub that was fairly busy at 10.15 in the morning with older drinkers.
