Called in today to find four hand pulls at the bar, though only one was clipped and that was "coming soon" due to conditioning. The remaining three were clipped with generic Cask Marque clips. There was nobody at the bar to serve, so that saved me any embarrassment when I walked back out.

Inside there is a fairly long bar in a big rectangular room with old school furniture; the whole look reminded me of an old Working Man's Club. There did appear to be a further room behind the bar but did not investigate this.

There was an old gent at a table supping a pint and reading the paper. Given its proximity to the train station I was surprised that he appeared to be the only sign of life in the place (and describing him as such is a bit of a stretch of the imagination).

Not a place I would be particularly inclined to go out of my way to revisit but if I was passing I would perhaps give it another go if they had any real ales on.

As noted below this is a single rectangular room with prominent TVs, darts & pool at the far end, a jukebox and a tiny yard for smokers. There was some music playing at a low volume on my visit and the TVs showing horse racing that nobody seemed to be watching.
The bar along the left hand side had four hand pumps with two unused, Purity UBU and Taylor's Landlord. I went for the Landlord (£3.20) which was in pretty good nick, shame I hadn't looked up the CAMRA discount.
It's not really my sort of place but early on a Saturday afternoon was a long way short of a total disaster.

Bar & lounge very handy for the train station. The pub has a dartboard,a pool table and was serving 3 real ales.

I wandered into the Railway just before a Premiership football match had finished. As I ordered the TV was muted and some loud music was put on in its place. The bar is stocked with Amstel and standard draught and I counted four hand pumps. The Brains Brewery’s Merlin’s Oak was off leaving John Smiths Cask and Copper Dragon’s Golden Pippin as the ale options. A forth hand pump was drawing Old Rosie cider.
The bar is located along the left hand wall and faces some tables with banquette seating that run under the front windows. At the rear of the pub is a pool table and there is a smaller separate room with a dartboard.

I found the down to earth locals to be very friendly, but I decided to leave when the speakers started blaring out the Strawbs hit ‘Part of the Union’.

Called in here at the end of a Doncaster crawl, intending to make it our last before the station. Underwhelmed by the beers on offer and overwhelmed by the ghastly music being churned out by the sound system, we left without drinking.
