Alan Winfield left this review about Bawtry's Bar & Brasserie

Bawtry's Bar & Brasserie is situated at the end of the High Street.
Once inside this now seems more like a traditional pub with the brasserie area separate to the main pub.
The bar faces in a dog legged shaped room which has a stone floor, the seating is mainly normal tables and chairs, plus some settees,it all looked quite smart in our opinion.
There were four real ales on the bar and one real cider,i had a drink of Black Sheep Bitter which went down well, the other beers were Taylor Landlord,Theakston Old Peculiar and Theakston Best.
A pleasant pub to start our day in.

Will Larter left this review about The Cooper & Griffin

Now in the same ownership as the Cask Corner in Doncaster, the original large hotel has been split into a more manageable bar at the front with a business called Etc Etc Etc selling knick-knacks in the extension round the corner. Some of the accoutrements look like they might have come from Etc's wholesaler: a couple of lamps made from antlers, for example, and a gramophone with a brass horn - can it be original? The furniture is both eclectic and eccentric, with sofas and chairs being definitely non-standard, and the use of a bamboo-bound suitcase as a table should raise an eyebrow or two.

On the bar were eight hand pumps, one with a cider, the remainder having beers including two badged as Cooper & Griffin (Vulcan Bomber and Blue Steel), plus Theakstons XB and Old Peculier, and a couple more that I didn't note at the time. The friendly barman offered me a taste of the Vulcan, which was malty, hoppy and not well balanced, perhaps an attempt at that modern contradiction in terms: a black IPA. The Blue Steel was a stronger and more quaffable pale ale. An A-board outside advises the availability of at least four real ales (Sun-Thu) at only £2.50 a pint. I asked for a half of XB, which turned out to be one of those, but the price is available only if you order a pint: a half was a whopping £1.80. Even with the 10% Camra member's discount it was still pretty pricey for South Yorkshire, and their own beer was even steeper at £1.90 a half.

On the bright side, I managed to negotiate a temporary cessation in the assault on my ears by Frank Sinatra - apparently the juke box had been set to "easy listening" by head office diktat. I pointed out that to some of us there's nothing easy about listening to Old Blue Eyes - a few people have trouble eating Marmite, too - and I was treated instead to Simple Twist of Fate and Gimme Shelter. Once those were over, though, it was back to Frank - his Come Fly With Me had me sinking the remnants of my two halves and scurrying for the door.
