I have visited the Glasshouse a handful of times over the past five years or so, and yesterday I had chance to refresh my memory. Four hand pulls at the bar, two of which were off (one of those being Doom Bar so no great loss) with the other two offering Naylor's Black & Tan and Pheasantry Best Bitter. The Black & Tan set me back £1.45 for a half pint, which is decent value. It was in good nick so no complaints on that score.

There was a fair crowd in at 3pm on Thursday afternoon, when so many pubs seem to struggle with daytime trade. So there was a nice bit of atmosphere in the place. I imagine that this pub can get quite lively of an evening or weekend.

The food menu seems to have changed since once of my earlier visits - they used to have a bargain basement home made pie menu but this has now been replaced with a fairly generic pub food menu with typical pub prices. There is also a separate senior citizen menu.

It's a big place but is split into separate sections with pillars and the like, so it didn't feel open and barn like to me. The gents toilets were perfectly fine. A pool table was spotted to the rear of the pub.

This is a huge modern barn of a place that is food orientated, hosts entertainment events, has TVs everywhere and has a function room that caters for private events. I got here around 11:00 on a Saturday morning to find a few people in.
Although there are four hand pumps two were unused and one had a London Pride clip turned. This left just Marston's Wells Eagle IPA which was being sold for £1.50. Unfortunately it was sour and cloudy so it was replaced with John Smiths Smooth Crap.
For some reason this place is GBG 2018 listed. I couldn't wait to get out of it.
