Hi Everyone
Just to let all you real ale fans know, we have been selected for the Good Beer Guide 2012 and have also won CAMRA pub of the year 2011.
Presentation at the corner pin on Thurs 21st April. We have also taken over The Railway Hotel near the train station at Doncaster and are currently serving 2 rotating Gueat ales and John smiths hand pump ( function room available). Both the corner pin and railway are on twitter and the CAMRA website for up dated beers.Thank you all from Dave and Ruth x

Hi All
My name is Ruth and My husband is Dave. We have the Corner Pin pub at Doncaster. Thankyou all for the kind messages about our pub. We do pride ourselves on a good pint, a clean pub and a friendly atmosphere. This is just to let all real ale fans know that we have a beer festival coming up in February. The dates are Thursday 24th to Saturday 26th. 12 noon till 11pm. There will be 2 bars, one inside with 4 ales on and one outside in the beer garden with 6 real ales on.( built by Dave him self) The ales are being selected and provided by Great Heck Brewery so we will not know which they are until the week before. Bar snacks, pie and peas available all day and proceeds will go to Kidscan Charity. ( We do a cracking chip buttie!)Hope to see you all at the festival. x

Agree with Mr Phat, this is the must visit real ale outlet in Donny, not far from the station.A traditional street corner local which is far removed from the drinking barns in the town centre, the landlord is exceptionally welcoming and commited to high quality ale.To the left of the entrance is a small lounge area while to the right is the public bar area ,long and thin with a dart board at the end.Locals are a chatty lot and strangers are made to feel at home. The music is played at low volume with a thoughtful choice of repertoire.York Brewery and Copper Dragon ales are stocked as regulars along with a rotating guest on the four handpumps.Fully deserving its 2010 award from the local CAMRA branch.Tip top.

This may well be the best real ale venue in Doncaster. A very friendly boozer, close to the station, with a landlord who clearly cares deeply about serving top quality real and guest ales in top condition. Two beers from Copper Dragon: Black Gold and Scotts 1816 and Bateman's XB but none of these got a look in as Yorkshire Terrier from the York Brewery, a regular, was on sparkling form. An excellent boozer which should be first on the list to visit in Donny for its warm welcome and quality ale.

A taditional local's corner pub with patterned windows and a fairly straight forward, functional but cosy enough interior. The décor has a dated 70's feel to it but doesn't lack anything for it (the piped Elton John's Greatest Hits probably aided my perception). To the left of the bar is a lounge bar with stone walls and fake beams, brewery mirror and trophy cabinet (they run successful darts, domino and football teams). The other side of the pub is a bit more basic and has a darts area at one end. A good selection of beers included Copper Dragon Golden Pippen, Batemans XB, Saltaire Texas Brown and the less interesting John Smiths. Prices were very reasonable, the customer base friendly and the pub was doing good trade despite being very late on a wet Tuesday evening which says something about its reputation among the local pubs, the rest of which were barely inhabited.. Very much a no thrills and nothing fancy sort of place but worthy of a visit, especially since I read somewhere that its future is in some doubt. I hope not.
