I think this has just had a refurb which means new upholstery, new carpet and pubco advertising and cheap food menus dotted around. Still a traditional enough pub otherwise. One of the two ales on was John Smiths Cask which I haven’t seen in ages!

This is proper little pub just over the Handbridge bridge. Its small inside with basically 2 rooms, though you could say 3.Very friendly and a couple of real ales. Lovely roaring fire.

Nothing much changed since Soup Dragons detailed review apart from the handpull ales which were Doombar and Timothy Taylor Landlord, with the latter of these two spot on.

A nice, small, brick, cottage style terraced building with beer patio.

The interior has 3 rooms, though the open plan bar counts as two! the other room is for pool and darts, there is also TV. The decor is red and white, with beams and there are some nice prints and old pictures dotted about. Service was ok, the clientele older.

Beer; tap stuff, with Tetley MILD, which was ok, there was also Black Sheep and Pedigree on handpull.

The beer choice is pretty common for real ale, but at least its on. Worth a visit, but the Carlton is a btter place for choice.

Known locally as Clubbys, this is the best pub in Handbridge, always a nice pint, pool table and good loud juke box in the rear of the pub, very interesting punters drink at this venue.
