Alan Winfield left this review about The Alma

The Alma is a large stone built pub that is situated in the middle of Wombwell.
Once inside there is one very large room with a very long bar facing, the left side is carpeted and had comfy bench seating and chairs, the right side was larger and looked a bit bare, there were a couple of tall tables and stools and a leather bench seat, there was a DJ rig to the front right.
There was some decent rock music playing for background music, there were menus on the tables and the food was priced quite cheaply, there was nobody dining on my dinnertime visit.
There was one real ale on the bar, this was John Smiths cask, this was not at its best.
This pub seemed a bit to big and was almost empty on my visit,it probably does well when the live bands that are advertised are playing.

Large town center pub with parking.
Good value food but NO REAL ALE.
Ourdoor drinking at the front and side of pub.
Sky Sports.
Large free car park near to pub if pub car park full.
