Visited November 2017. Seven real ales listed on the chalk board. Seafarers by Fullers, Oakham Pale, Wainwright, Titanic Plum Porter and Tetley Bitter. I couldn't remember the other two. I had the Seafarers which was fine. I sat in the room to the right which had a pleasant fire going. There was a couple in there and a chap on his own joined later. There were a couple of people in the room to the left.

I think the room behind the bar may now be prioritised for dining, I seem to recall a sign on the door on my way past to go to the gents.

Nice traditional feeling boozer with a pretty reasonable selection of real ale.

Excellent traditional pub, with a central bar around which are three rooms for drinking, the lounge bar to the left, public bar to the right, and to the rear past the ladies’ is a snug bar with a pool table. Decor and furniture are traditional throughout, the public bar being maroon from dado rail upwards and the other areas cream coloured.

Drinks on offer include the fruits of four handpulls, this weekend being Landlord, Hobgoblin and Tetley, with Directors about to come on the fourth. Beer quality was excellent, I’d say it was the best Landlord I’ve ever tasted. Signs above the bar promise that if you’re not entirely satisfied with your pint they will replace it and give you a refund – something I suspect they rarely have to do!

Above review was from September 2012. My visit to the Notts last Saturday found an expanded ale range, with six handpulls additionally offering cross Bay Hale, Pride, and Black Sheep Riggwelter, with a Tetley Mild also available on tap. Bar meals were available at £5-6. An excellent atmosphere as always.

I visited 'The Notts’ several times on a recent visit and found it to be a typical local’s pub. The beer was good and reasonably priced. I believe the Barmaid who served me is a member of the family and was very pleasant. The Food I saw being served during the lunchtime period was reasonably priced and looked good, next time I will be trying it.
