Nice traditional clean pub, mirrors and wood all over the place quite a pleasant atmosphere. Beers were reasonable, staff friendly. Not easily accessible for wheelchairs, steps in and odd steps up and down to the toilets and within the pub.

The Cross Keys in Chester is under new management and it is due to re-open on Saturday 7th August at 6pm. Could be well worth a visit to find out what the atmosphere is like, what the beer is like and what the food is like now.
Good excuse for an evening out methinks!

A terraced corner pub, in brick and stone, with some white rendering
The interior is open plan on a couple of levels, the decor being wood panel with a few old photos of Chester, a few bottles and other ornaments and drink aware posters! There was a nice tiled fireplace, the background music was easy listening, though a little loud, service was friendly, with a few other punters reading newspapers.
Beer; usual tap stuff, with Deuchars IPA, a decent enough Hobgoblin, but the best Black Sheep i have ever tasted.
This place was a pleasing find. It felt like a hotel bar, but i shall seek it out next time especially as it is by the Bear & Billet et al.
