E TA left this review about The New Mill

Previously The Bathpool Inn, this mid-19th Century pub is currently owned by Vintage Inns, this was a pleasant surprise given its location and genre. Outside, there is a tight car park at the side and a small but tidy garden with a smoking pergola and benches and tables, though the weather and traffic noise make it less pleasant than it could be. There is a single main bar with a raised dining area at one end, in a timber-framed extension. Dogs were permitted in the dining area, which was another nice touch. There was a TV screen showing live sports. The staff were pleasant and the clientele relatively civilised. Two ales on, Tribute and Doombar, which were in fair condition but not brilliant, plus a selection of bottled beers. A real cider would have made a good addition, but it wasn’t to be. They host occasional theme nights such as Pie Wednesdays and other food-related themes. Overall, better than I had anticipated and worth returning for a quick lunch or a pint in passing.
