As noted below this is an old original hotel. The Lloyds part of it is down to the left as you enter the main building. It's a rambling old place with various rooms and a small bar near the entrance and a larger one at the back. The rooms are carpeted and the usual furnishings are crammed in.
The small bar has two sets of three hand pumps which just had Abbot, Doom Bore doubled. The larger bar has two sets of five hand pumps which had the JDW Trio Of Doom and an unavailable "International" beer by Caledonian doubled, Addlestones Cider and Exmoor Stallion. I went for the Exmoor Stallion (£2.35) which was in good condition but rather dull. After that I discovered there was a box of Stan's Cider (£2.55) in a fridge.
This is potentially a good Spoons but was completely let down by the poor beer choice.

Chose Cotleigh Golden Seahawk and Everards Terrapin Rye, and American brewed beer and both were ok. Service good and the place looked clean and tidy.

I and my sister and Br. in-law, ate here almost every morning before heading out on our hiking adventures. The Duke Of W. offers up a good hearty breakfast...never had mushrooms with breakfast before, the service good too. The manger was friendly and welcomed a chat with us about our visit from Canada to Minehead. I'd visit again!

Probably the best 'spoons I've visited. Not your usual converted aircraft hangar but half a dozen good size rooms and a couple of bars that retain the character of the hotel that was. (I used to bring my mum here for lunch before it became a 'spoons - very gentile and like stepping back into the 'thirties). Good range of ales on during my last visit including Exmoor Gold, Exmoor Ale, Butcombe Brunel (all of which were in excellent condition) as well as all the usual suspects. Normal pub grub of the chain. Quick tip for Paris - use the back bar the service is much quicker!

Visited for breakfast before last year's beer festival.

As with all spoons, dreadfully slow service, only one girl serving at any one time. The Guy in front of me in the queue wanted no mushrooms and extra egg, or something, with his breakfast. What a palaver, the girl couldn't work the till and the duty manager (who was as grumpy as he was when he worked in the Perkin Warbeck in Taunton) got involved. By the time it was my turn to order, I needed lunch as well as breakfast. What happened to the good old fashioned pen and paper?

At least the beer and surroundings were ok, by Spoons standards. Not the best pub in Minehead, try Steamers Bar.

Not a lot one can say. It is a Wetherspoons so we know what to expect - BUT - this one has a carvery as well as the normal menu, and as a carvery fan we did try it, but the food was poor as it was late afternoon and it seemed the food had been there since lunchtime. Shame really as it would have been a good carvery if it had been hot food. Beers ok.

Large multi roomed Wetherspoon's (and Wetherlodge)at the top of the town.A very comfortable pub with a fair range of real ales.
