E TA left this review about Bakers Arms

A Georgian red brick town house on the main road through, handy for the nearby business park. There is no garden as such, just a small paved area adjacent to the road, where smokers and children gather. Inside, the décor is dated, battered and in need of tlc. The floors are worn laminate, while none of the buildings architecturally interesting features are on display. There are two bars, one a public bar and a larger room which doubles as a function room. The latter is in a sympathetically built single story annex at the side. The public bar is entered from the street through an unusual stained glass door. The landlady and pub dog (the latter a large, bouncy labdradoodle) were friendly and welcoming, but the locals were not. Although there was no overt hostility, it was clear we weren't trusted. There was one handpump on the bar clipped Doombar, but it had run dry, so I had a bottle of Hobgoblin. The pub is currently for sale, so is at risk of closure. It represents a real opportunity for whoever buys it to make it an excellent venue, but at the moment I would prefer to drink elsewhere.
