E TA left this review about King William Inn

A fantastic back street local in a Victorian terrace with Georgian origins. Outside, there is a fair sized car park at the back, while parking on the road is quite limited. There is a tidy paved garden, enclosed, with tables and benches. The front bar is made from 3 conjoined rooms, the end one being a games room with a pool table and dartboard, demarcated by a rise in floor level. The bar end has a large TV screen which was showing live sports, and there is a display cabinet with various sports trophies. The landlady was very welcoming, and the locals were a pretty decent bunch, all contributing to a convivial atmosphere, exactly what a town pub should be. They have a reputation for excellent ale which has earned them GBG entries – the standard of beer during this visit bears that out. Ales change regularly, and this time we enjoyed Butcombe’s Original, Fixed Wheel Through and Off, and Strathhaven Claverhouse. There was also a box of Orchard Pig behind the bar. There are happy hours on Monday and Wednesday and they host regular live music acts. This is now my favourite pub in Crewkerne, though it doesn’t open at lunchtime during the week.
