A scruffy-looking town pub whose exterior belies the welcome and conviviality within. It consists of a single L-shaped bar with a pool table, dartboard, gaming machine and jukebox. There was a strong local buzz about the place when we went in, yet we were welcomed and water was offered for the dogs. The jukebox was playing pleasant music, there were families enjoying themselves without causing a fuss and the regulars were happy to chat. Two ales on, both from Exmoor: Fox and Gold. The beer was in excellent condition, and the whole visit was a pleasant one. Worth dropping in for a drink when passing and including in a town crawl.
