A Victorian roadside pub, previously The Railway, and before that The Red Lion. From the outside the front looks scruffy and run-down, while the back has a small paved garden that feels like a building site, surrounded as it is by portakabins and dustbins. Inside, there is a single large bar with a central counter whose tiled canopy is decorated with many sports trophies, mainly darts, at which the regulars excel. The interior is better kept than outside, though it'd getting a bit battered and dated. It is however welcoming and homely. The staff and locals are friendly, dogs are welcome, idiots are not. Only one ale on, Doombar, which was not well kept and served too cold. It's a decent local, good to come to for darts or to talk about football, but I wouldn't include in a crawl.

A pub with proper local colour on our Saturday afternoon visit. Grubby, pokey, friendly, proper drinkers' pub. Decent cider selection.
