E TA left this review about The Bay Tree

Recently modernised, this historic town pub is light and airy, welcoming and friendly. A very cheery barmaid greeted us (and indeed waved us off and wished us well when we left), and the locals were quite chatty. The newly pointed bar is formed from 2 original rooms, now sympathetically renovated and conjoined. There is a counter in the corner and a fireplace at either end. Food is mainly pub standards, freshly cooked and reasonably priced. On draft were Stan’s cider, Doombar and London Pride. I had the Doombar, which was in very good condition, but I couldn’t bring myself to try the Pride. A decent pub, worth a visit if passing but it doesn’t open Mondays.
