E TA left this review about The Pipers Inn

A large roadside inn formed from two buildings, one 17th Century, the other possibly Victorian, the ground floors on different levels but joined in such a way as to give it the feel of a country club. There is a large car park and a fairly uninviting garden. The bar area is pleasantly furnished, carpeted and comfortable. From there, a flight of steps down the the dining room is guarded by a teenager who utterly fails to impress. The barman too is unimpressive – unwelcoming, unhelpful and miserable. It’s also expensive – beers are 15% higher than other local pubs and food around 25%. Ales on were Otter and Fine Tuned’s Twist and Stout, both in good condition. Notwithstanding the decent beer, the prices and the barman’s attitude mean I won’t be dropping in again any time soon.
