Real Ale Ray left this review about The Wrekin Inn

A good sized well supported pub that had a really community vibe to it. The interior consisted of a good sized central bar area, bench seating along the front of entrance, a side carpeted lounge area with a feature wall displaying the pub's name and collection of vinyl records surrounding it. The back room hosted a pool table.
Seven handpumps serving Rowton Brewery Wrekin No.1, Area 51 and Ironbridge Gold. The three guest beers Were Mallinson's Cascade, AM:PM Session IPA and Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby, plus one cider Sussex Cider Sea Cider.

Taken over in late 2021 by Rowton Brewery , it is the third pub in their portfolio along with the excellent Pheasant just down the road and The Fighting Cocks in Oakengates .
It has had a bit of a re-furb in a similar style to the Pheasant , very busy on a Saturday afternoon with many people watching the England v Wales Egg Chasers on TV.
Six ales on with four from Rowton , Milky Way , Area 51 , Old Wrekin no 1 and a decent Ironbridge Gold .
Along with the Pheasant this makes a decent double in Wellington .

Set away a few minutes walk from the main shopping centre, this is a traditional local boozer built as part of the nearby estate in the 1950’s that despite being opened-out retains a good character and it’s easy to see where old areas divided. Nice original stained and leaded windows remain. Pool and darts noted, as well as dog-friendliness. Seven pumps with 3x Salopian, GK Abbot and 2x Three Tuns. My Three Tuns Clerics Cure was poor, unfortunately. Rolls were available for £1.50. I’d give this one another go as I liked it as a pub – shame about my beer really. (visited June)

I agree with Oggwyn, "just a good decent local boozer". It seemed to be quite a friendly out of town place. There were lots of cask ales on, but I was too "relaxed" to record them or photo the pumps. I also forgot to get my "May Mild" sticker and can't remember what I had to drink! 'nuff said.

No real changes here , just a good decent local boozer , open plan with several seperate areas , a games room to the back with a pool table and TV showing Sky Sports , 7 handpulls , 6 on during my Saturday afternoon visit , Three Tuns XXX , Clerics Cure , Green Duck Figgy Mild , Little Giant Stout , Oakhams Citra and Ercall Gold Cider , the XXX was in fine shape .
Saturday afternoon is cheese day where the locals bring in a selection of cheese , crackers , bread and some meats and snacks , i was invited to help myself if i fancied anything .
This is a very goo pub

Old Boots left this review about The Wrekin Inn

Broken up into multiple spaces it’s traditionally furnished but slightly minimalist in décor. A live band was playing in one part of the pub but you couldn’t escape them as they were visible on screens around the pub, fortunately they played a style of music I like and they weren’t bad at it, the pub or maybe just the band seemed popular with a range of ages from 25 -45. The L shaped counter has 8 pulls, 4 devoted to the apple and four to beer although a flyer I picked up said 6 ales and 14 ciders, plus live music, open mic, darts, poker and much more. I didn’t notice any polypins, extra pumps or stillage but then it was rammed. The beer and service were excellent in spite of the crowds and I wouldn’t mind a return visit on a quieter night.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Wrekin Inn

This is a plain detached undressed brick pub with patio area. It looks like it is a planned part of a 1950s housing estate. There is an irregular shaped main building with a smaller side extension, the most decorative feature being a string course of upturned bricks. The interior has an L-shaped room in coffee and wallpapered walls, with stone floor and coffee ceiling. There is a pool table and dart board at one end. Old photos, beer mats and footy shirts decorate a room with a couple of fireplaces. The TV wasn't on and the varied music was quiet. There is a side area, in the same decor, just a red carpet, which has books and a piano in. The service was great, really friendly and there were just a couple of locals in. Beer; usual tap stuff with Kelham Island Christmas Crimbo, Ludlow Stairway (class), Cairngorm Sheepshagger's Gold (Very good), Oakham Inferno, Hobsons Kiss Me Now and Salopian Ferkin Freezing on handpull. The somewhat unispiring exterior gives way to a haven of delights. Quite simply a great pub - go!

An excellent unpretentious boozer, just outside the town centre on a quiet housing estate. There's a stone floor, basic wooden tables and chairs and a lovely wooden bar that was just made for leaning on. Seven hand pumps altogether, with four ales and two ciders at the time of my visit on a Tuesday evening. I had the very good Three Tuns XXX from Bishops Castle, there was also Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild and Oakham Bishops Farewell, plus another that I failed to write down. Could have happily stayed here for a few more but had to attend a football match at New Bucks Head (we won).

Friendly regulars and staff, the pub has a darts team and regular live music. Also a patio area out front for the warmer weather. The ale selection is varied and interesting (although darker beers are a rarity) and is always well kept. A great addition to the real ale scene in Wellington.
