Steve C left this review about The White Hart

The L-shaped White Hart wraps around a front paved courtyard with seating and a few planters. The entrance leads to a thin wooden floored bar area with a serving counter that runs across the rear wall. Sofas and a fireplace with burner are found in a tile floored sunken area to the right. The long left-hand side of the pub feels more like a dining area, so it was empty during a recent late evening midweek visit. There was some background music playing, but I don’t recall any other distractions. Standard and premium keg were available alongside three hand pumps that were drawing Ringwood Brewery’s Razor Back, Three Tuns Solstice and Hobsons Brewery’s Spring Break. The Razor and Solstice were on good form, but the welcome and service from both staff was less than friendly, in fact I would class it as being miserable. This is why I’ll not be returning next time I’m in Ironbridge.

The bar area was in front of the main entrance, which was handy. Three handpumps serving Marston's 61 Deep, Ringwood Razor Back and Three Tuns Best Bitter. I went for the Three Tuns and proceeded along into the right hand lounge area. Immediately I got an awful smell of someone's lunch, heaven knows what they were eating. It wasn't a fish dish either, maybe the low ceilings and no ventilation didn't help.
My beer was ok, but not marvellous. Maybe I just caught this place on a bad day.

Another Georgian coaching inn with front patio. As Quickie says, it is self-styled cafe, bar, bistro place, which did also become a 'pub' when I quizzed the cheerful bar chappie on that topic. Satisifed with his 'Yes', we sat. The interior has all been ripped out, so effectively it is a long room with eclectic furniture and ephemera. The fireplace at the end was the nicest feature, but as there were no twigs with lights on I coped happily with it - even the sofas. There was no TV and the music was soft. Service was fine and there was just one other couple in. Beer had usual taps with Peroni and Estrella, and there were 3 real ales on pull: Marston's 6.1 deep, Ringwood Razorback and a decent enough Wood's Shropshire Lad. Again, happy to pop in for one.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The White Hart

Grade II-listed inn located in a fine position with good views along the Severn gorge, recently given a comprehensive makeover and now describing itself as a 'Café, Bar & Bistro' (with accommodation available too). The multi-room interior has been re-done in pastel shades with expensive furnishings that certainly won't appeal to the traditionalist but the place was doing a good dining trade on a Saturday lunch-time. The front courtyard seating area is still a fine spot for a pint in the sunshine, though. Now has just three handpumps, with Pedigree New World, Brakspear's Oxford Gold and the local Wood's Shropshire Lad available.

Thanks to the reviewers below I managed to be directed to the White Hart when our first target of the Bird in Hand was surprisingly closed on a fine weather Friday lunchtime. In need of a decent place providing a decent lunchtime pub food menu and pint and for that The White Hart hit the spot.
All six ale pumps were in operation for our visit. These were Marstons Pedigree and Wychwood Rascal from the Marstons stable and then Hancocks HB and three from the Coach House brewing Co. (Cheshire Gold, Honey Pot and Summer Sizzler). The Hancocks and Honey Pot and Sizzler were tried and were all in good nick. And the food menu of burgers, dogs and sandwiches were just what we needed as well.
Can’t comment for how this pub cum B&B hotel functions on a cold winters night, but on a glorious summers day the outside courtyard with its view of the Severn was a great spot to refuel.

Friendly food led pub just a short distance from the Ironbridge , there is a large patio to the front of the pub , the bar is to the left of the entrance up a couple of steps , the pub has obviously been extended a number of times over the years as it has a few different levels , there is a small area to the right of the entrance and a slightly raised seperate area to the rear of this room , past the bar the room turns to the left were there are a couple of comfy sofas and some high stools and tables , further along is the resturant area .
Usual keg taps with six handpulls , four in use on my visit with Boondoggle , Doom Bar and two from Coach House , Honey Pot and Chesire Gold both of which were exellent .
Clientelle were mostly diners on our early evening visit , service was good .
Worth a visit if in the area

L shaped pub with a large outdoor seating area at the front. Obviously food led as almost every table had condiments on it. It's one of those bare brick type of places that either work well or just look stupid, this one works pretty well. There's a separate dining room round the corner from the bar that looked very nice. There's a quiz machine in the area to the right of the bar along with a few comfortable chairs. They have special offers on during the week as I found out when I was charged £2 for my pint of Hancocks HB, what a bargain, and it was a nice pint as well. They also had The Reverend James from Brains on which was more expensive. The landlord was friendly enough when I arrived and the other people in were a decent bunch. It's a pleasant pub and I'll certainly call in next time I'm in Ironbridge.
