This is the new home of the Wrekin (formerly Ironbridge) brewery and their second outlet under the Project William umbrella. It's a nicely renovated single room with a mix of wooden flooring along the bar, tiles by the entrance and a carpeted area further back.
There is a garden alongside the brewery at the back neither of which I investigated as it was raining.
It's refreshing to see a bar free from any keg fonts as there are about half a dozen plain taps at the back of the bar.
The three groups of three hand pumps on the bar had two none mainstream ciders, Wrekin Gold & Pale, Everard's Tiger, Hop Back Citra, Mallinson's Mild Thing, Grey Friars Auld Jock and Seven Brothers Stout. I went for the Wrekin Gold (£2.70) and the Seven Brothers Stout (£3.00) both of which were superb.
I have to say I preferred this to the better known Cock Hotel down on the Holyhead Road and it's certainly the best pub that I've been to in Wellington.

A cracking little pub and arguably the best in Wellington. Its own brewhouse is located at the rear. A one roomed pub that's sparsely decorated. A beer garden to the rear is next to the brewhouse.

Well what a difference from my last visit , the Pheasant has been taken on by the Ironbridge Brewery and has had a very good re-furb .
The pub is clean and tidy if unremarkable from the outside , inside it is basically one room(thanks to a couple of re-furbs in the 70s and 80s) but a few pillars break things up , there is an old brick fire place to the right and the bar runs along the left , the floor is a mixture of wood , tiles and carpet .
On the bar are nine hand-pulls , eight for ale and one with cider , there were a good selection of ales from Oakham , Elgoods , Everards and Rowton and the two i tried were in decent nick , the cider was Scrambler .
The keg taps are mounted on a Beer wall , ten in all with a mixture of upmarket lagers and Craft beers .
Service was good and friendly .
There is a beer garden to the rear alongside the old stable block which over the years has seen service as various Resturants but is now undergoing conversion to a Brewhouse for Ironbridge Brewery .
This is a great addition to the Wellington pub scene , well worth a visit .

Refurbished and looks pretty good for it , 3 handpulls only 1 on Bombadier which was pretty poor , Landlord was friendly which is more than can be said for the locals , very unfriendly and intimadating , not a nice place to drink

It's obvious that a few years ago that this place was a nice pub. It's not now. Leasehold is up for sale and the pub is a mess. Sticky worn carpet, missing or worn through tiling. 3 handpumps on the bar but no real ale. One old guy sitting at the bar and 4 postmen having an after work drink. I leaned on one of the tables and stuck to it. Don't try and lease it guys, knock it down and put it out of it's misery. It's a real dump!
