Soup Dragon left this review about The Dun Cow

Stopped-off in Wellington on the spur of the moment and I was happy to try the Dun Cow as it is a fantastic Georgian build with flanking splayed bays. The inside had been opened out to make an irregular shape with 'areas' one of which had a large TV showing the horse-racing. The yellow and fake beam look with wood floor is fine here and it looked tidy enough. The service was fine and the place seemed populated by regulars. Sadly, the one real ale pump was unused (current climate, likely) and the keg choice was basic, but this gave me a chance to have a Newcastle Brown. Happy to have visited for one.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Dun Cow

Traditional boozer in one of the alleyways in the old market area of the town, this one retains some character in the bars on each side of the central servery, although only the public bar reached by the main entrance was populated when I visited. Just Ein Stein from Lymestone available on handpump, but at least this was only £3.10 and in good shape.

Much improved from my last visit , still the same layout , one handpull with Lymestone Ein Stein , very much a locals pub but a lot friendlier than before although i was the youngest (and most sober) in the pub apart from the friendly young barmaid .

Aqualung . left this review about The Dun Cow

I went in this one as I had a bit of time before my train, didn't like the look of the Station Hotel and had noticed the dire reviews previously.
It's an attractive looking old building from the outside and inside it is one open plan room with beams a central bar and a wooden floor. There were a few lager drinkers at the bar who could be anyone in any pub anywhere and a bloke with his elderly dad sat at a table. The man who was serving seemed perfectly OK to me and left me time to have a look around the bar before finding the single hand pump which was serving Lymestone Foundation Stone (£2.80). This turned out to be in good nick and was a reasonable price. My only gripe with the place was the TV screens that nobody seemed to be watching. I didn't find this place to be the car-crash that previous reviews suggest. There was nothing really wrong with it on the basis of my brief visit.

ROB Camra left this review about The Dun Cow

Small pub in the pedestrianised area of Wellington centre. There's a horseshoe shaped bar to the left as you enter (if you can get past he crowd of smokers outside that is). It's a one roomed pub that has a dartboard and a quiz machine at the rear of the bar. Keg only on the bar and there are no interesting features at all within the pub. It's pretty seedy really, I wouldn't bother if I were you.
