The Crown Inn has a central bar counter that serves an L-shaped bar to the front right and a bar to the left rear, but this one was lights out during a recent midweek late afternoon visit. In the left front is a seating area and in the right rear is a pool table, jukebox and dartboard. Televisions throughout were airing racing from Cheltenham which was being watched by up to ten locals in the open bar area. A few tables had betting slips on them, which may have been because it was Gold Cup week, but I got the feeling this is the norm. Wainwright was available from the lone hand pump and Madri was also available alongside a standard keg range. This is a down to earth local’s boozer that I’d probably use if I lived in these parts, but I don’t so I’ll not be revisiting.
