The Old House at Home has a thin bar up the left where some karaoke was taking place at the rear. I sat in the vault bar to the right that was empty during a recent early Wednesday evening visit. Four hand pumps in the left bar and two in the right, but only Bass and Titanic’s Plum Porter were available. The porter was well past its best, in fact it was undrinkable. I don’t plan on revisiting here.

Not the world's prettiest pub, but some money has been expended recently doing up the inside, which looks very smart. There are two rooms, with entrances off a front porch. I went in the left hand side, where two customers engaged me in conversation about Jeyes fluid, of all things. On the bar were four hand pumps, with Bass turned around, a real cider and two beers on: Bombardier and Titanic Plum Porter. I wasn't in the mood for the porter, so went for the Bombardier, which was in good enough condition. I prefer this to the Artisan Tap next door, but I wouldn't make a point of visiting either again, unless I feel the need to talk about cleaning fluids one more time.

The Old House at Home is a plain looking pub that is on the busy hartshill road,it is a short walk from the Red Lion.
Once inside there was a small bar to the right which was empty on my early evening visit, the lounge to the left was long and narrow with comfortable bench seating facing the bar,the room was carpeted and seemed fairly smart.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Bass which was quite a nice drink, the other beer was Bombardier.
The pub was fairly busy and there was some decent music playing.
I quite like pubs like this and found this to be a comfortable pub to sit and drink in, i would happily come here again.
