Alan Winfield left this review about The Lamplighter

The Lamplighter is a large pub that is just off the town centre.
Once inside there is a large L shaped room which extends to the rear left, the serving bar is to the front right, there is comfy bench seating in bays facing the bar,2 TVs at each side of the front area were showing a music channel, the rear left had normal tables and chairs, there is a small seperate oblong shaped bar to the rear right which had a pool table and darts board in it.
There were three pumps on the bar,one unclipped with the other two having their clips turned round,i asked for a real ale but was told none on,so i had to have a drink of John Smiths smooth crap which was a pretty poor drink.
This is quite a smart pub, just a shame there were no real ales on here.
