Alan Winfield left this review about Jolly Carter

The Jolly Carter is a small single bar pub that is situated on the run down newcastle street.
Once inside this pub looked quite smart,it had a square shaped room with the bar facing, the bar area was up one step,i had a drink on the lower level, this area was carpeted and had comfortable bench seating with small stools, there was a table skittles table to the right.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of a micro brewery beer that i cannot remember the name of but it tasted slightly off to me,the other beers were Pedigree and Sharpes Doom Bar.
This was a nice comfortable pub to sit and have a drink in.
