Total change. The sign proclaims it to be a Gastro pub but there was little sign of any food during my visit. There was a decent stout on cask.

The Blacks Head is hidden away on a side street off shelton road.
Once inside there was a large bar to the right,this room was carpeted and had comfy bench seating and small stools,there was a pool table to the right and a TV showing a music channel,there was a smaller seperate lounge to the left which was carpeted and looked comfortable enough.
The pub is a Marstons tied house and there was one real ale on the bar which was Hobgoblin and this was a decent enough drink.
This is a locals pub and not one to go out of your way to do like i did.
