Much modernized pub , it is open plan in an L shape , the bar area is straight ahead as you enter , the long side area is given over to dining during the day and live music at weekends .
4 real ales on , Cockerhoop , Banks Amber , Hobgoblin and Youngs Original which was a well kept if very dull pint .

Refurbished. A small bar area at the entrance gives way to a long area at the rear which seems to be very much aimed at foodies. 5 real ales on offer.

First time in this pub for over 3 years and it doesn't seem to have changed much. Only 2 beers available though and my Bank's Bitter was just OK. The place was full of pushchairs and shrieking kids. It also smelt strongly of fried food. Not a very good experience on this visit.

Nicely appointed pub both inside and out just off the main pedestrianised area. It's actually one big L shaped room but has two distinct areas with the back part of the pub leaning more towards dining. It's badged as a Marston's pub but didn't actually have any Marston's cask ale on although they are all from the extended stable. Four handpumps selling Ringwood Fortyniner and Bold Forester along with Brakspear Oxford Gold and Banks's Bitter. Had a pint of the Bold Forester which was very good. Has live music on regularly as well. It's a good pub, well worth a visit.

Just off the main shopping area so gets very busy on weekend lunchtimes with hungry shoppers , the pub was modernised(ruined)in the 80s , so is now just one big bland room with no memorable features . 4 handpulls from the Marstons/Bankss stable , i had a Jennings Cockerhoop , not bad . Its OK in here but with so many great pubs in town its a bit of a let down

Roger Button left this review about The Bull Inn

This 17th century town centre pub promises more from the outside than it delivers within. The L shaped interior is very plain and featureless and almost has a Smith & Jones feel to it. There were 4 pumps with Banks Bitter, Ringwood 49er, Brakspear Oxford Gold (+ 1 unused pump) at relatively bargain prices but our Saturday lunchtime visit was overwhelmed by foodies and their admittedly hearty looking dinners making it impossible to bag a seat or table. There is a dart board in one corner, a Big Screen for sport and regular live music so you need to pick your time if you intend to have a peaceful visit. The “charm and quaintness” mentioned in its advertising wasn't terribly obvious to me and the “beautiful beer garden” appeared to be little more than a patch of decking with umbrella covering unless I missed something. It isn't the worst place in town by a long shot and there are a couple of decent ales but, despite its obvious popularity, I get the impression that most people come for its cheap and cheerful approach rather than anything of great substance.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bull Inn

Looks much more modern inside than the traditional exterior would suggest. Four real ales on, including a decent pint of Banks's Bitter. Seemed pretty busy, but I think that most people were from a single large party out on the town for the evening.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Bull Inn

Nice exterior, white and cream Georgian style terraced pub.

Interior is very clean and wood based. As It is a large L shaped room, with dining more confined to the area past the bar. It was quiet when we visited, but friendly enough.

Usual taps, with 3 real ales when we visited, yet i only made note of two (i am slipping!). These were Jennings Tom Fool and Ringwood 78. I had the Fool, which was well kept, but not to my taste.

Worth a visit
