Old Boots left this review about Britannia Inn

Narrow locals pub with a fascinating history but that was then, this now. Two pulls among the forest of usual keggy stuff. The only one on was a definitive swerve being a honey beer, however I gave it a go as it was Slaters and it was ok. Decent locals pub and reasonably friendly. Do not be tempted by the chippy opposite it is truely shite.

Two cask ales available and a lovely fire spitting out hot ashes all over the immediate vicinity of the damned thing. Watch your keks.

Just round the corner from the station and originaly called the Engine and Tender it has been known as the Britania since 1856 , its a split level pub with a pool table on the upper floor to the rear , there is an alcove on the lower floor with a dartboard , there is also a small outside drinking area .
Usual keg taps and two handpulls with Salopian Shropshire Gold and Hop Twister , i had the Hop Twister which was decent if a tad warm .
Very quiet on my visit but the locals were friendly as was the barman .
Its a friendly little pub this if nothing special

Soup Dragon left this review about Britannia Inn

Strange looking pub from the outside - it looks more like it should be serving tea and scones than beer. We only found it by accident. We had popped up to look at the exterior of the Rock & Fountain over the road, only to be scared off by the Carlin' and Worthington signs on it. We dived into the Britannia, for cover, once i realised there were no cakes in the window and i did in fact sell beer.

Sort of a half traditional and half trendy refurbed kind of place with the usual taps, Youngs Bitter and, what turned this place into a nice find, a great Ansells MILD, though it was slightly too cold.

All in all, will definately visit again, purely for the MILD, if that went, i guess, unless a few more real ales came on, so would I

Split level pub with a dartboard and a TV on the top bit and a few tables in the lower bit. Has two handpumps, however one was turned round. The one beer on was Youngs Bitter. For some reason there seems to quite a bit of Youngs and Fullers around in Shrewsbury, why is that when there's plenty of good local beer around. Friendly locals pub with a roaring real fire in Winter. Close to the station and well worth a visit.
