Real Ale Ray left this review about The Crown Inn

This pub is now under new owners as Woods Brewery has gone. The interior is now quite trendy with a turquoise coloured aged bar front, copper finished counter top and black and white patterned tiles around the bar floor perimeter. The customers were all pretty much 20/30's and the pub was very busy compared to most on our Thursday evening visit.
Five pumps, with four beers on, Backyard Impaler, Enville, Salopian Shropshire Gold and St Austell Tribute. We went for the Backyard Impaler 5.2 % priced at a reasonable £3.80 a pint. The young staff were fast and efficient handling a busy bar.

As mentioned below The Crown is now a Wood's pub. Shropshire Lad, Born & Bred pale ale and Take 5 IPA available plus Wainwright as a guest. We tried the pale ale and the IPA as we watched a bit of the cricket. Both were excellent. Would happily call again.

Trendy bar style place that was previously known as the Anchor , the bar is an open plan room with the furniture all done in trendy brown leather , lots of TVs scattered about showing sport . The dining area is to the rear and leads to a patio.
Only fizzy keg available no real ale .
Not my type of place at all , but it was busy so they must be doing something right

A white rendered terraced cottage styled bar/eatery on the main road, with rear patio area.

The interior has a restaurant upstairs and a bar/dining area downstairs. The downstairs bar/dining area is open plan and encompasses the central serving bar. The decor is a dirty mustardy colour, with some wood panel and an undressed brick fireplace and arch that leads to an area behind the bar - i have attached the link for the website so you can see. The seating was comfy, sofas and pouffes and there were candles dotted around. It is on two slightly different levels, with wood floor, fakey beams and very arty pictures. There were several TVs above the fireplace. The service was OK, the clientele few at my visit, and the background music was charty, but at an OK level.

Beer; tap stuff with Peroni and Wells Bombardier on handpull. Bombardier isn't my choice of drink, so i had a coke - which was more expensive for a half than the Peroni - what a scandal.

Very modern and highly rated restaurant, i am led to believe - i didn't eat so i couldn't comment. Too modern for me and not enough beer choice, but those that seek food/wine rather than beer would likely be happy.

Square shaped one roomer with an award winning restaurant upstairs. The downstairs bar has a large TV for sport, some comfortable seating and a quiz machine. It's heaving whenever there's a big match on TV. Only one handpump on the bar and every time I’ve been in it’s been serving Bombardier. This is not one of my favourite pints but it’s kept well enough in here. It’s a decent enough place to call in for one whilst on a crawl through Shifnal.
