Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Griffin Inn

Welcoming town-centre pub with a curious, colourful artwork addition to the façade. The main bar (with another opened-out room to the back) is to the left of the entrance, with a separate snug on the right-hand side; all with a traditional look and feel. Old Golden Hen, Posh Rat from Rat Brewery (£3.60) and Rosie's Pig cider available from the three handpumps.

A town centre grade 2 listed building that is a 3 roomed traditional and friendly local. On entry there is a large bookcase facing you and to the right of this is the bar. Past the bar to the right is a small room and beyond the bar down a few steps is a larger room with 2 dart boards and occasionally has live music There was 4 cask beers to choose from on my Thursday lunchtime and quite enjoyed my short stay here.
Outside of the pub surrounding the pub sign is work done by a local artist called "Three skinny drinkers" Don't know what that is all about.

A three roomed pub with a decent selection of beers. Has 3 figures, which look like they're made from chicken wire and lots of sellotape, hanging outside.

My word this was a crushing disappointment compared to the interesting selection of 8 real ales promised by the (just released) 2014 GBG.
The pub has been turned into an Irish themed affair with 3 handpumps offering: Monty's Old Jailhouse, GK Festival Ale and Stonehouse Station Bitter. All 4% or below and each one served with an unfriendly scowl.
I realise that my slightly negative view has been tainted by expectations being too high but I won't be tempted to return.

An attractive town centre pub with an unusual sculpture of three drinkers above the front door,we were led here by a very positive write up in the 2014 GBG,all about a Black Country landlord sourcing an interesting variety of quality well kept ales.Imagine our shock to find GK American IPA 3.6% and two other low strenght brews as the choice from the three handpumps.Looking around at the Irish bunting, pictures of Wexford and Beamish sign above the bar made us wonder if we had drifted into the wrong pub,but after local research we discovered it is the GBG which is way off the mark.
The interior is traditional,in different sections with a library at one end , a lower back room for music events and a side snug at the front, but I wouldn't describe the welcome as particularly friendly.Food is popular but that wasn't my aim.My Monty's Old Jail House was instantly forgettable (£3) despite being clear.
A bum steer from the GBG,I'm unlikely to return.
