The Talbot is a denent sized bare brick built pub that is situated close to the Shropshire Union canal on the eastern edge of Market Drayton.
Once inside there is was an oblong shaped room to the front left, the door to the room on the right was closed.
An unusuall thing i noticed was a loud door bell ring each time someone came in the pub, this reminded me of corner shops in the 70s.
The room i had a drink in was quite smart with comfy bench seating facing the bar with wood stools, there was a larger dining type room to the rear which was fairly busy and a small room to the front right which looked more like a lounge.
The pub is a Marstons house and there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Marstons Burton bitter which was very nice, the other beer was Banks's bitter.
This was a pleasant pub to have a drink in with rooms to suit all tastes.

Roadhouse on way out of town, catering for canal moorings nearby. Clean and tidy, nicely furnished, and with various food offers. Beers from the Marstons stable, with emphasis on Jennings, and seemed in good order. Quite acceptable, although turning someone else away at 22.29 and a half was a little churlish.
