Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Salopian Star

Another of the town's landmark black-and-white timbered buildings, and like many others, the interior has been substantially altered at some stage. Once inside the portico entrance, you find a fairly basic L-shaped bar with a limited amount of mixed furniture with an alehouse look. With two of the four handpumps in use, there were two local real ales from New Brew: Session IPA (£2.90) and NPA. So not a great choice, but plus one mark for the friendly landlord.

From a distance this pub looks fine but up close the exterior is a bit unkempt and you therefore enter with a bit of trepidation as to the interior. Whilst the interior isn't the best it is actually a good friendly pub. A single room with plenty of brass/copper nic nacs dotted around. The were 4 handpumps but only 2 were in use with both beers from Brew Brewery. Despite the rather run down look to the place its probably worth a visit. They have a resident pub dog and its huge.

A very fine exterior with steps up to the entrance this Tudor style building is a free house.Sadly the interior is devoid of features, the wooden floor aside.Open plan with seating at the perimeter it has the feel of an ale house but sadly my midweek trip was greeted by just a single ale selection in Salopian Shropshire Gold, other clips were reversed. There was a real cider however. The muzak was blaring out.Possibly with a wider choice of real ale, this pub may serve the drinker well but with just one low ABV choice ,my visit was sadly brief.

The Salopian Star is a nice looking black and white pub.
Once inside there was a single L shaped room which was bare boarded, the seating was bench type around the edge of the room with stools.
There were two dart boards to the front right and left and lots of horse brasses on the right wall.
There were four pumps on the bar with two unclipped,i had a drink of Salopian Shropshire Gold which was a very nice drink and also very cheap, the other beer was Salopian Puzzle.
The pub was quite busy with drinkers and i saw no sign of any food being available.
This is a proper pub for drinkers.
I quite liked my time in this pub.
